'Posthumous Progress' is an ambitious, one off performance event curated by Simon Raven and others at Wollaton Hall & Park, an Elizabethan mansion & national heritage site three miles from Nottingham City Centre.

Sunday 24th October, 12 - 4pm & 6 - 8pm, Wollaton Hall
An ambitious one day performance event at Wollaton Hall, commissioned as part of Sideshow, curated by Simon Raven.
Artists Brian Catling, Aaron Williamson, Kirsten Norrie, Alia Pathan, Sian Robinson Davies, Jack Catling, Jenna Finch and Simon Raven will make new performances in response to the history, atmosphere and present use of the Hall and its grounds, considering the figure of the guide in contemporary art.
Lesley Smith, head curator at Tutbury Castle and 'Britain's Most Haunted' TV show regular will also give a talk, dressed as Queen Elizabeth 1st (for whom Wollaton was built, but who never turned up) in the Hall from 2 - 3pm.
Performances will take place in both Wollaton Hall and grounds from 12 - 4pm, during normal public opening hours, and at a special ticketed evening event from 6 - 8pm (booking essential through www.sideshow2010.org includes a seat on a free coach service which departs Sideshow headquarters, One Thoresby Street, Sneinton at 5.00pm. )
Those wishing to attend both the daytime and evening events are advised that the Hall be will closed from 4 - 6pm. The Admiral Rodney pub is a short walk away and a good place for a pint and a bite to eat in the interim. Online booking is still essential for the evening event as we are limited to the capacity of the Hall. Anyone planning to drive to Wollaton is advised to arrive for 6pm as the gates will be closed after this time.
Visitors are also advised to be cautious as the deer at Wollaton are currently in season.
